1. Identify side for food or water, as indicated by engraving in base.
2. Fill jar with either food or water.
3. Put side you wish to use towards the jar neck.
4. Twist base onto jar tightly.
5. Flip feeder/waterer over to serve.

Do not expect food to completely fill bowl - only a portion of food is exposed to help maintain freshness.
